We continue to improve our benefits package, with recent additions like family mental health care, pet insurance, adoption assistance, legal insurance, identity theft protection & more.

Health

Medical, Dental & Vision Plans

Memorial offers two medical plans. One is similar to an HMO, while the other is similar to a PPO. In addition to all of the benefits our plans offer, you’ll also receive free telehealth visits with a provider through MemorialDOCNow. And your health information is always at your fingertips with Memorial’s free, secure online tool, Memorial MyChart.

Memorial also offers two Dental Plans – a dental HMO and a dental PPO – and a comprehensive, affordable Vision Plan.

Voluntary Medical Benefits

Critical Illness Insurance

Pays a lump-sum benefit directly to you if you or a covered dependent is diagnosed with a covered condition.

Hospital Indemnity Insurance

Pays a benefit directly to you if you or a covered dependent receives inpatient hospital care.

Accident Insurance

Can cover out-of-pocket medical expenses and extra bills that can follow an accident.

Flexible Spending Account (FSAs)

Memorial offers both a Healthcare FSA and a Dependent Care FSA, so you can set aside pre-tax earnings every pay period for eligible medical expenses and for childcare, elder care, and other dependent care expenses.

Reproductive Medicine

Memorial has partnered with Progyny to help support your journey to parenthood, with access to a premier network of fertility specialists, tissue preservation, and clinical and emotional support from dedicated Patient Care Advocates.

Life Insurance

Memorial offers basic life insurance as a free benefit – paid entirely by Memorial. You may also buy supplemental life insurance coverage for yourself and your dependents.

Long-Term and Short-Term Disability

Memorial provides all benefits-eligible employees with a base long-term disability plan, plus options to enhance the benefit. We also offer voluntary Short-Term Disability insurance to help replace a portion of your income if a covered illness or injury keeps you out of work.

Wellness

Memorial’s Employee Health Offices provide blood pressure and cholesterol checks, TB and vision screenings, BMI evaluations, and necessary immunizations at no cost. They also offer nicotine replacement therapy and stop-smoking programs.

Retirement Plans

403(b) Plan

You can begin contributing to Memorial’s 403(b) retirement plan on your first day on the job. Memorial will match between 30% up to 55% of 5% of your annual salary, based on your years of service, up to IRS maximums. And the longer you are with Memorial, the more of Memorial’s contributions to your retirement are yours to keep. You are fully vested after five years of service. You’ll automatically be enrolled in this plan after 45 days of employment at a contribution rate of 5%.

401(a) Plan

This plan is for full-time employees who accumulate 1,872 hours in a calendar year (1,404 hours your first year). If you qualify, Memorial will contribute 2.5% of your annual salary into your account, up to IRS maximums. You are fully vested after five contributions.

457(a) Plan

Whether you want to shelter additional funds or take advantage of this type of plan, you can set aside money each pay period in this account and invest your contributions into the Transamerica fund of your choice.

Financial Benefits

Memorial Employees Federal Credit Union

Memorial Employees Federal Credit Union offers checking and saving account services, plus many benefits such as low-interest rates on loans and credit cards.

Discounts

Being a Memorial employee offers you discounts on merchandise (like uniforms) and attractions (like sports venues). You also can get discounts on transportation costs, including Tri-Rail and Broward County Transit.

Employee Referral Program

You can earn a bonus for each qualified person you refer and who is successfully hired.

Educational Benefits

Educational Assistance

This program helps pay for healthcare- and job-related undergraduate and graduate degrees through an approved, accredited college or university, up to $5,000 per calendar year.

Scholarships

Memorial offers community scholarships, employee dependent scholarships, and scholarships for programs in Florida public and private schools. We offer scholarships for Nursing, Nursing Support, Pharmacy, Laboratory Science, Imaging and Respiratory Therapy.

Career Growth Opportunities

We have dozens of classes available through Aspire, our learning management system. We also partner with local colleges and universities, as well as technical schools, for career training. In addition, Memorial offers internal education programs including Nurse Residency Program, RN Fellowship Program, Pharmacy Residency and Pharmacy Apprenticeship.

Leaves of Absence

Paid Leave

Earned by accrual every pay period. Memorial requires you to use the equivalent of two weeks’ paid leave per calendar year.

Parental Leave Pay

Four weeks of paid leave for employees approved for Family & Medical Leave Act leave following the birth, adoption or foster care placement of a child.

Disability Leave

Accrued in your disability account, based on your hours worked (except for overtime) each pay period during the year.

Jury Duty

Compensated at your normal rate of pay for all scheduled hours of work that you miss during each day you may be called for jury service.

Bereavement Leave

Three days of paid bereavement leave at any time for a death in your immediate family.

Military Leave

You may qualify for this leave under the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA) of 1994

Family-Friendly Benefits

Adoption Assistance

Up to $10,000 in assistance for domestic or international adoptions, plus resources for picking an adoption service, checklists for choosing providers and attorneys, and information on how to prepare for adoption.

Child Care Services

Memorial offers an on-site childcare center (paid for by the employee). Emergency childcare may be available during natural and other disasters.

Community Services Programs

As a Memorial employee, you can take advantage of Community Services programs, all of which are accredited by the Council of Accreditation for Rehabilitation Services (CARF) and licensed by the Department of Children and Families for demonstrating a commitment to Standards of Excellence.

Identity Theft Protection

Through ID Watchdog, you can enroll in the monitoring of credit reports, social media, the Dark Web, high-risk transactions, and more.

Legal Services

You can enroll in this benefit provided via MetLaw for most personal legal matters, including representation for tax audits, sale or purchase of a home, mortgages, will and living wills, adoption, divorce, civil litigation, driving privileges, and more.

Pet Insurance

You can enroll in Pet Insurance through Nationwide for coverage for your dog, cat, or other pet for services performed by any veterinarian, including specialists and emergency providers, anywhere in the US.
